Early one morning - collaboration response piece
As part of an ongoing group project amongst several students attending Winchester School of Art; we are creating an exact replica of Sir Anthony Caro’s Early one Morning Sculpture from sourcing reclaimed steel learning skills like cutting, joining and welding along the way. We aim to create a response that is exact, precise and that encompass the work’s beauty and poetry, literally a painting in space. The ideas factory that is our tutor Ian Dawson and technicians Andy and Chris will be guiding us step by step as we complete the project in sessions each week. I just hope we do this amazing piece of sculpture justice! Oh did I mention Ian Dawson will be making a personal phone call to Sir Anthony Caro to tell him of our masterpiece (hopefully) when its finished? we’ll see where it goes from there….
